Swarna Prashana
Swarna Prashana is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves administering a specially prepared gold-based mixture to children to enhance their physical and mental development. The term "Swarna" means gold, and "Prashana" means to consume or ingest. This traditional practice is typically administered to children from birth to 16 years old, with the aim of boosting their immunity, intelligence, and overall well-being.
The Swarna Prashana mixture is prepared by combining gold ash with other herbal ingredients, which are then mixed with honey or ghee. This mixture is administered to the child in a specific dosage, usually on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the child's age and health requirements. Regular administration of Swarna Prashana is believed to promote physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional balance, while also protecting the child from illnesses and infections. Notably, Swarna Prashana is often administered on Pushya Nakshatra, a specific star in the Hindu calendar believed to amplify the benefits of this practice.
